Brow Lift in Houston, TX

While injectable treatments may work in the short-term, many patients want to address their fine lines and wrinkles once and for all. The brow lift is the perfect solution to correcting deep creases and wrinkles along the forehead for the long haul. Board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Cara Downey, and her expert team of professionals are proud to offer brow lifts to residents of Houston, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, and the neighboring communities in east Texas.

What is a Brow Lift?

To eliminate deep wrinkles, creases, and fine lines on your forehead and to elevate the position of your brow, you may consider getting a brow lift. A brow lift, also called a forehead lift, tightens and lifts these parts of the face, making you appear more youthful and revitalized. There are several methods of performing a brow lift depending on the degree of your concerns. Options include an endoscopic brow lift, a direct brow lift (in conjunction with an upper eyelid surgery), a temporal brow lift, or a pretrichial (along with the hairline) brow lift.

How Much Does a Brow Lift Cost in Houston, TX?

The average cost of your brow lift in Houston typically ranges between $3,500 and $6,500. The total cost for your brow lift will depend on factors such as your surgeon’s fee, the location of your procedure, and other miscellaneous medical expenses. At Heights Plastic Surgery, we accept cash and all major credit cards. We are also happy to offer financing through CareCredit® for patients. Because a brow lift is often more about cosmetic appearance and is less of a medical necessity, it is typically not covered by most insurance plans.

How is a Brow Lift Performed?

Before your brow lift begins, a general anesthetic or an intravenous sedative will be administered. This is to ensure you are as comfortable and pain-free as possible throughout the entirety of your procedure. If your brow position and forehead irregularities are minimal to moderate, a direct brow lift using an incision in the upper lid or an endoscopic brow lift using 4 cm incisions behind the hairline in the temple region of the scalp may be performed. More severe concerns may require a larger incision either along the hairline or within the scalp. In addition, Dr. Downey may tape or wrap your forehead following your procedure in order to suppress bruising and swelling.

What Can I Expect During my Brow Lift Recovery?

Patients often experience swelling and bruising around the treated area for the first seven to 10 days following their brow lift procedure. Dr. Downey may provide you with prescription medication that can help manage your pain. In addition to icing consistently for the first 48 hours following your procedure, Dr. Downey and her team will ask that you keep your head elevated when laying down for the first two weeks following your brow lift. Patients are typically cleared to return to work and regular daily activities about one week following their brow lift. While you will be able to see some results of your brow lift immediately following your procedure, ultimate results will appear once all incisions are healed and swelling subsides, about six to eight months later.
