WHAT IS A FACELIFT?

Growing older does not have to involve looking old. The years, the elements, and stress work against us all to create wrinkles and sagging skin on the cheeks, jawline, and neck. You might be surprised to learn how many people across the globe have rejuvenated their face and erased years from their look with a facelift surgery. A facelift, or rhytidectomy, improves the appearance of the lower two-thirds of the face by tightening sagging facial muscles, smoothing wrinkled skin, and removing excess fat. This procedure is often combined with a neck lift for improvements under the chin.

• Standard Facelift: The standard facelift aims to alleviate moderate to severe sagging skin on the face and neck. Your surgeon will make incisions along the hairline and behind the ears, which provides better lifting capability.
• Mini-Facelift: This technique is ideal for less severely wrinkled, aged, or sagging facial skin and has scars that are hidden in the hairline or behind the ears.

Enhance Your Facelift

Patients of Dr. Bullocks often enhance the results of their Facelift by adding on one or more additional treatments. The following are the most popular add-ons:

• Neck Lift: This procedure removes excess skin and fat from the neck to address wrinkles, sagging skin and enhance the jawline with contouring.
• Eyelid Surgery [Blepharoplasty]: This procedure corrects drooping or sagging eyelids by removing excess skin to refresh the eyes. We can treat the upper eye lid and the lower eye lids, or both.
• Chin Liposuction: This procedure can improve submental fat or the double chin and can be done with or without a neck lift.
• Neck Liposuction: This procedure can improve the neck silhouette and provide a more refined appearance. Typically paired with our Renuvion procedure for additional skin tightening. This procedure can be done with or without a neck lift.
• Facial Fat Grafting: This procedure uses fat cells collected from liposuction to inject them into the face to restore loss of volume.

What Makes Me a good candidate?

FROM CONSULT TO SURGERY DAY FOR YOUR FACELIFT

At your one-on-one consultation, you’ll meet with Dr. Bullocks and his patient care coordinator to discuss all your options and create a customized treatment plan. He will review your health history, do a physical exam, go through each procedure option step-by-step to create a customized plan and quote just for you. You’ll have ample time to have any questions answered, review any of your concerns, and view before and after photos.

At Heights Plastic Surgery your Facelift procedure is typically performed with twilight anesthesia ensuring you are comfortable and pain-free throughout your surgery, you will be able to return home the same day as surgery. The surgery will take place in Dr. Bullocks’ private AAAASF facility which is considered the gold standard in accreditation of free-standing ambulatory surgery centers.

On the day of surgery, he will mark on your face where the incisions will go and thoroughly review his surgical plan with you. For you, the surgery will happen in a blink of an eye, but most facelift surgeries take between 3 – 4 hours.When you wake up from surgery you will be monitored in a recovery room by our caring and knowledgeable staff until you are released to a loved one for transportation home to continue to recover. We will see you back in-office usually 24 to 72 hours after surgery to ensure you are healing well and see you for weekly visits until 6 weeks post-op, when you are typically released to return to all activities.
