Dr. Cara Downey is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. She graduated with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin then attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston for her medical degree. She matched in the prestigious plastic surgery residency program at Baylor and has been in solo private practice here in Houston since. In training, she specialized in cosmetic surgery and breast reconstruction after mastectomy including microsurgery and perforator flaps. She has been adjunct faculty at Baylor College of Medicine for the past 5 years. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery as well as the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She and her husband enjoy surgical mission trips across the globe for hand, burn and cleft patients. Together, they have 5 children, including 2 sets of twins!
Our Practice Manager,Carla Bandini, has been with the practice since its inception. She has incredible organizational skills and attention to detail. She is instrumental in assuring that the business runs smoothly and that patients are properly educated and prepared for their care. She also is a certified billing specialist and takes care of all our communication to and from insurance companies.
Emily Cary is the newest addition to the team from MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has a background in medicine as well as customer care. She is committed to providing exceptional service as well as comforting patients throughout their surgical journey with a genuine sweet composure.
Samantha Sanchez is one of our Patient Care Coordinators. She assists the patients in preparation and throughout their post-operative care. In addition to providing detailed education, her compassionate disposition and communications skills help to make patients feel at ease. EMT training is a great asset during in-office procedures and general clinic care of patients.
