Restylane® in Houston, TX
Seeing the signs of aging when looking in the mirror can be frustrating. Focus more on laughing and less on your laugh lines with the help of Restylane®. Board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Cara Downey, and her expert team of professionals are proud to offer Restylane® to residents of Houston, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, and the neighboring communities in east Texas.
What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a highly popular dermal filler treatment option that is used to reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles, folds, and fine lines around the face. Restylane® dermal filler is a transparent gel that mimics the appearance and function of our skin’s naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. Because of this, it can easily blend into our fine lines and wrinkles and have a natural-looking result. Restylane® has also gained popularity among some of our younger patients, as it can also be used to add volume and fullness into thin lips.
How Much Does Restylane® Cost in Houston, TX?
The average cost of your Restylane® treatment in Houston typically starts at about $500. The total cost for your Restylane® treatment will depend on the amount of product needed to help you achieve your desired results. At Heights Plastic Surgery, we accept cash and all major credit cards. We are also happy to offer financing through CareCredit® for patients. Because Restylane® is often more about cosmetic appearance and is less of a medical necessity, it is typically not covered by most insurance plans.
How is Restylane® Performed?
Restylane® is an in-office procedure that typically takes about 45 minutes to complete. Before your Restylane® treatment begins, Dr. Downey will apply a topical anesthetic to your treatment areas. This is to ensure you are as comfortable and pain-free as possible throughout the entirety of your treatment. Dr. Downey will then make a series of strategically placed Restylane® injections into your desired treated areas, typically around the mouth, chin, lips, and cheeks. Because Restylane® is a minimally invasive treatment, there is no downtime or recovery period associated with treatment.

What Results Can I Expect from Restylane®?
Because Restylane® is a minimally invasive treatment, patients are able to return to their normal daily activities – including work – immediately following treatment. It is normal to experience some redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising around your treated areas. These side effects will typically subside on their own within 24 to 48 hours of treatment. While you may see some results of your Restylane® treatment immediately, ultimate results will be visible about two to five days following treatment, once all swelling has gone down. Restylane® treatments typically last for up to 12 to 18 months at a time. Dr. Downey may recommend coming in for regular Restylane® treatments every nine to 12 months to maintain your desired results.
Am I a Good Candidate for Restylane®?
At Heights Plastic Surgery, good candidates for Restylane® experience the following concerns:
- Laugh lines, or lines around the sides of the mouth
- Marionette lines, or wrinkles that run from the corners of the mouth to the chin
