ARE YOU QUALIFIED FOR THE TREATMENT?
CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss procedure. For the procedure to take effect, you must be close to your ideal body weight, with CoolSculpting utilized to remove stubborn pockets of fat from the body. However, patients who have or are currently experiencing any of the conditions listed below may need a consultation prior to treatment:
- Are currently suffering from cryoglobulinemia, a condition that causes proteins in the blood to increase due to cold temperature
- Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding (future pregnancies can reverse final results)
- Are currently using health devices such as pacemakers
- Have suffered from nerve problems and conditions associated with chronic pain
- Have suffered from skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, or dermatitis

HOW IS THE TREATMENT PERFORMED?
A session of CoolSculpting takes between 35 minutes – 1 hour to complete, without the need for anesthesia. The length of each session will depend on the number of areas to treat on the body. Popular treatment areas include:
- Chin (double chin)
- Back (bra area)
CoolSculpting uses Cryolipolysis, a process that uses cold temperatures to crystallize and destroy fat cells. A cool gel pad is placed on the skin before the CoolSculpting applicator is used on the targeted areas for treatment.
You can expect to feel a little pressure once the procedure begins. The applicator creates a vacuum that pulls the fatty tissue between the cooling panels. Fat breaks down and eventually dissipates altogether at cold temperatures.
WHAT IS THE EXPECTED RECOVERY AND RESULT?
Because CoolSculpting is a non-surgical procedure, you can return to normal activities such as work, driving, and exercise immediately. CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved procedure that yields permanent results within 12 weeks after the initial treatment and may start to become apparent within 4 weeks. Final results can be observed after 6 months, once the full treatment is complete.
