What are butt implants? Buttock implants are specialized silicone implants used to improve the overall shape, size, and feel of the buttocks. Butt implants are nearly always made from silicone gel, unlike breast implants that are also available in saline and silicone variants. The silicone gel inside our buttock implants provides a soft, yet firm form that allows them to keep their original dimensions even after insertion. Dr. Cara Downey and Dr. Jamal Bullocks are board-certified plastic surgeons with nearly 15 years of experience with plastic and cosmetic surgery. Over this time, they have crafted many successful and life-changing butt implant surgeries every year for patients in the greater Houston area.
How much do butt implants cost in Houston? The average cost of your butt implant procedure in Houston typically ranges between $13,000 and $16,000. The total cost for your butt implant procedure will depend on factors such as your surgeon’s fee, the location of your procedure, and other miscellaneous medical expenses. At Heights Plastic Surgery, we accept cash and all major credit cards. We are also happy to offer financing through CareCredit® for patients. Because a butt implant procedure is typically more about cosmetic appearance and is less of a medical necessity, it is not covered by insurance plans.
What does a butt implant surgery look like? Getting butt implants is an outpatient procedure that typically takes about two to three hours to complete. To begin, a general anesthetic will be administered to ensure you are comfortable and pain-free throughout your surgery. The buttock implant will be placed through a small incision in the buttock crease. The implant is customized for each patient based on their physique, measurements and desired results.
What should I expect in recovery after a butt implant surgery? For the first 24 hours following your Houston butt implant surgery, it is normal to experience some pain, soreness, swelling, and bruising around your treated areas. Dr. Downey or Dr. Bullocks will provide you with prescription medication that can help manage your pain. It is important that you refrain from sitting on your bottom or laying on your back for 2 to 3 weeks following your butt implant surgery. Doing so may compromise your expected results. Patients typically report returning to work and normal daily activities after about two weeks following their butt implant procedure; however, it is important to wait until given clearance from Dr. Downey or Dr. Bullocks. While many patients are able to see some visible results immediately following surgery, ultimate results will become apparent after all swelling and bruising has faded, about three to six months later.
