What is a rhinoplasty? Rhinoplasty, otherwise known as a nose job, is a surgical procedure in which a cosmetic surgeon reshapes a patient’s nose. The reshaping may be performed for necessary medical reasons to correct breathing issues, or merely to improve the overall appearance of the nose for aesthetic purposes. A rhinoplasty procedure will differ according to each patient’s specific situation. During rhinoplasty, Dr. Downey or Dr. Bullocks can change the size and width of the nose, correct humps on the bridge, alter the nasal tip, change the size and shape of nostrils, and fix any asymmetry or septum deviation. Oftentimes, the patient will also experience trouble breathing or chronic congestion.
