Have you worked hard to slim down but are still plagued with a double chin? Contour your jawline with Kybella®. Board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Cara Downey, and her expert team of professionals are proud to offer Kybella® to residents of Houston, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, and the neighboring communities in east Texas.

What is Kybella®?

Kybella® is an injectable cosmetic treatment that helps patients get rid of their double chin once-and-for-all by melting away submental fat. Kybella® gives patients a non-surgical and minimally invasive alternative to more invasive facial contouring procedures – such as neck liposuction – while yielding the same, potentially permanent results. Kybella®’s active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, simply melts away targeted fat which is naturally eliminated from the body following treatment. This leaves patients with a beautifully contoured and slimmed appearance without the downtime and recovery period that comes with traditional facial contouring methods.

How Much Does Kybella® Cost in Houston, TX?

The average cost of your Kybella® treatment in Houston typically starts at about $600. The total cost for your Kybella® treatment will depend on the amount of product needed to help you achieve your desired results. At Heights Plastic Surgery, we accept cash and all major credit cards. We are also happy to offer financing through CareCredit® for patients. Because Kybella® is often more about cosmetic appearance and is less of medical necessity, it is typically not covered by most insurance plans.

How is Kybella® Performed?

Kybealla® is an in-office procedure that typically takes about 20 minutes to complete. Before your Kybella® treatment begins, Dr. Downey will apply a topical anesthetic to your treatment areas. This is to ensure you are as comfortable and pain-free as possible throughout the entirety of your treatment. Dr. Downey will then place a stencil under your chin to mark your targeted areas, then strategically make a series of Kybella® injections under the chin. Because Kybella® is a minimally invasive procedure, there is no formal downtime or recovery period associated with treatment.

What Results Can I Expect from Kybella®?

Because Kybella® is a minimally invasive treatment, patients are able to return to their normal daily activities – including work – immediately following treatment. It is normal to experience some redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising around your treated areas. These side effects will typically subside on their own within 24 to 48 hours of treatment. While you may see some results of their Kybella® injections after just one treatment, many patients require between three to six treatments to see ultimate results. Dr. Downey will determine your personalized treatment plan during your one-on-one consultation.
